OAKES, N.D. (NewsDakota.com)- In a game that took exactly one hour, Oakes Post 36 disposed of Lisbon in five innings 11-1.
Post 36 took advantage of a sporadic Lisbon start. Starting pitcher Hunter Schultz didn’t record an out and allowed the first five to reach with four of them coming via a walk. Oakes scored seven times in the opening frame on just two hits. RBI singles from Taylor Schall and Coy Awender highlighted the quick start.
Two more runs came across t score in the 2nd inning on a single off the bat of Tyler Voightman to make it 9-0.
Garret Meehl was the starter for Oakes and he was good. Five innings, one run on six hits and a walk was the final line for Meehl as he picked up the victory. The lone run off of Meehl came in the 4th inning on a base knock from Lisbon catcher Mason Lukes.
Oakes would take care of business in the 5th inning, however, thanks to a two run base knock from Adam Neustel to send Post 36 home victorious.
The next time out for Post 36 is Tuesday night at home against FHL at 5:00. The broadcast can be heard on 1220 AM, 95.9 FM “The Tornado” and online at NewsDakota.com
