ENDERLIN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Cayden Lloyd threw a complete game shutout and Avery Bennefeld homerd as Valley City opened up the Enderlin Wood Bat Tournament with a 10-0 shutout of Lisbon.

Lloyd allowed just two hits in six innings.He walked two and struck out nine. Lloyd retired the last 12 batters that he faced.

Bennefeld’s home run came in the first inning when he sent a 1-2 pitch over the center field fence forhis first home run of the season. Riley Gerhardt had two hits including a double and drove in two runs for Post 60.

Valley City is now 9-9-1 overall and will play Nelson County today at noon in the tournament.
