VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A five-day trial for a Mesa, Arizona man accused of shooting a Valley City man last November is scheduled to being September 30th in the Barnes County Courthouse.

21 year-old Cornelious Edward Johnson is facing two felony counts of attempted murder and a felony count of robbery stemming from the November 21st 2018 shooting in Valley City.

Judge Jay Schmitz said the five-day trial will begin September 30th and conclude on October 4th.

Johnson fled North Dakota after the shooting in Valley City. Two months later, U.S. Marshals arrested him in Maricopa County Arizona on January 30th.

The 19 year-old victim, was shot one time in the upper body and continues to recover from his gunshot wound.
