FARGO, N.D. (Newsdakota.com) – Hayden Thompson’s rbi single in the bottom of the seventh capped a three run inning and lifted Fargo to a 9-8 come-from-behind win over Valley City to earn a split in the doubleheader Tuesday night in Fargo.

Valley City jumped out to a 5-1 lead thanks to a four run second inning. Briar Harvey’s two-run single capped the scoring in the inning. The other two runs scored on errors.

Post 60 would stretch that lead to 7-1 on Connor May’s rbi single in the third and Easton Hesch scoring on an error in the fourth.

But the Jets started the comeback with two runs in the fourth, and three in the fifth to make it 7-6.
Corey Nelson scored on a passed ball in the sixth to make it 8-6 before Fargo’s big seventh inning capped by Thompson’s walk off single.

Easton Hesch and Austyn Thornton had two hits each for Post 60. Hesch scored three times.
In game one, which counts in the league standings. Valley City scored three runs in the second and three in the fourth for a 6-5 win.

After Fargo scored three times in the first, Valley City came back and tied it with three in the second. Riley Gerhardt scored on an error to make it 3-1. John Beutler scored Briar Harvey on a single and Corey Nelson tied the game when he singled in Easton Hesch.

Corey Nelson, Mitchell Taylor and Riley Gerhardt had rbi singles in the fourth. With Nelson’s scoring Connor Drogen to break the 3-3 tie.

Fargo made things interesting in the seventh when they started the inning with a double and a single to score a run and make it 6-5. But Mitchell Taylor induced Payton Reed to hit into a double play and Gabriel Duncan line back to Taylor to end the inning.

Nelson, Gerhardt, and Beutler had two hits each. And Nelson had two rbi. Taylor scattered eight hits in seven innings for the win. He allowed just two earned runs with two walks and seven strikeouts.

Valley City is 7-6-1 overall and 5-2 in the East Region. They travel to Casselton tonight for a doubleheader tonight.
