ENDERLIN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Brandon Utke tossed a complete game one-hitter and added two doubles at the plate, leading the Enderlin Railcats to a 3-0 win over Lisbon in Legion Baseball Monday night at Hendrickson Field.
Utke doubled in the first to score Garrett Finger for the early 1-0 lead. He would score in the third when he and Jade Pulkrabek hit back-to-back doubles to make 2-0. Pulkrabek would score on Austin Glarum’s rbi infield single.
On the mound, Utke retired 14 of the last 15 batters he faced, and did not allow a hit after Hunter Schultz’s single with two out in the third. Utke did not walk a batter, hit one and struckout 10.
Jonah Welteru pitched well in the loss. He allowed six hits and one earned run in six innings. He did not walk a batter and struckout eight.
Enderlin is 1-1 on the year and will travel to Fargo to face Post 400 on Thursday.
