JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewDakota.com) – The Jamestown High golf team is currently in 10th place after the opening day of Class A state golf from Bois de Sioux Golf Course in Wahpeton. The Jays carded a first day total of 354 which is 70-over-par.
Sophomore Jed Truax lead Jamestown and is currently in 49th place. He finished the opening round with an 84, which is 13-over. Eighth-grader Andrew Walz, who earned all-WDA last week, struggled on the back-nine and carded a first round 88.
Jamestown is one shot ahead of Williston and Legacy who are tied for last, or 11th place.
Fargo Davies has a 14-shot lead over Red River for first place. The Eagles carded a first day total of 283.
