VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Sophomore Hailey Schaefer was lights out through five innings, striking out six West Fargo batters, but in the bottom of the sixth, Junior Tori Nichols-Kraft hit a 3-run home run to give the Packers a 3-1 lead. Starting pitcher Courtney Boll didn’t allow a run in the top of the seventh and West Fargo wins the 2019 EDC Girls Softball championship on Saturday afternoon at the VCSU Softball complex, 3-1.

Kraft was 2-for-3 at the plate with the home run and a single. At the plate for the Hi-Liners, Eliza Johnson had two hits and Eliza Schueneman had two hits as well.

West Fargo will be the one seed, Valley City will be the two seed at the State Tourney next week in Minot starting May 30th, West Fargo/Sheyenne will be the three seed, and Fargo North will be the four seed.
