JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The case involving Justice Lange, the Jamestown woman who is serving 12 years in the death of her infant son, has now been reopened.

Lange was sentenced in March after pleading guilty to negligent homicide and child neglect. Court documents filed Wednesday show a handwritten letter from Lange asking for personal items to be given to her grandparents.

“I am writing in regards to the evidence… [obtained] early on in the case be released to my Grandparents Marge and Dana and nobody else,” Lange writes.

The items Lange references include her sons blue star blanket, $110, and a ring. Lange’s attorney filed documents similar to Lange’s request earlier this week. Other items referenced include baby supplies, adult clothes, a car seat, purse, backpack, and wallet that were taken into law enforcement’s possession when they arrested her.

Lange and her 4-month-old son, Tyr, went missing for six days in 2018. Her baby was ultimately found in a slough in rural Stutsman county, with an autopsy showing he died of starvation.
