JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A new building on the University of Jamestown campus is expected to not only be an upgrade for the students, but also for the Northeast section of Jamestown.

UJ Place will be located on the corner of 7th Street and 12th Street NE, right across the street from the Harold Newman Arena. Construction is set to begin July 2019 and the plan is to open in the fall of 2020.

University of Jamestown President Dr. Polly Peterson says the five story building will help address the growing student population while also bringing business and opportunity to the northeast.

Peterson says the building will roundout and highlight the east side entrance to the campus as well.

McKenzy Olson, VP of Marketing and Public Relations at EPIC Companies, says they specialize in the type of building they’ll be constructing in Jamestown, which will be the first of its kind in the community.

Olson says there will be opportunity for local businesses to open a second location inside the building and expand, making it a great opportunity for them and the students.

An investor meeting is set at Harold Newman Arena on May 29th from 5 PM to 7 PM for individuals to learn more about the project. Another meeting will take place June 6th at the DoubleTree by Hilton in West Fargo.
