Lloyd S. Anderson, 95, of Valley City, ND went to be with his Lord and Savior on May 18, 2019, at the Sheyenne Care Center, Valley City, ND in the presence of his beloved wife, children and grandchildren, under the care of CHI Hospice.

A prayer service will be held at Our Saviors Lutheran Church, on Friday, May 24, 2019 at 7:00pm, with visitation prior to the service from 5:00 – 7:00pm. Funeral Services will be at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Valley City on Saturday, May 25, 2019 at 10:00am. Burial will be in Memory Gardens with military honors.

Lloyd was born on April 1, 1924, to Severt and Lenora (Larson) Anderson in Valley City, ND. He grew up on the family farm near Valley City, attended Hobart Township rural grade school. During his senior year he was elected homecoming king and in 1943 he graduated from Valley City High School with honors. Following graduation, he worked on the family farm until he enrolled in the US Army in 1946. He served, achieving the rank of sergeant, until he was honorably discharged in 1948. Lloyd returned to the family farm where he joined his father in the farming operation. Lloyd married the love of his life, Erna H Koebernick on December 22, 1951 in Valley City, ND. They resided on the farm and were blessed with 6 children, 3 boys and 3 girls; David, Bruce, Glenn, Lori, Doreen and Julie. They were devastated when in 1975 their oldest son, David Lloyd was killed in an accident. Along with farming, Lloyd sold seed for many years, winning numerous awards for his sales and service. In the 1980’s he started selling Wishek Discs, which he continued to sell until 2014. His love of family and his strong work ethics drew his sons to work alongside him, Bruce in farming and Glenn with the disc business. In 2011 they moved to Valley City and in December of 2018 they became residents of the Sheyenne Care Center in Valley City.

Lloyd served on several boards throughout his life; Hobart Township, Cass County Electric Co-operative, Federal Land Bank, Our Saviors Lutheran Church Council, to name a few. He enjoyed and taught many family members to hunt and fish and the love for the outdoors. He was an avid Vikings, Twins and Bison fan, but he especially enjoyed spending time with and traveling with family and friends.

Lloyd is remembered for his love for his family, his strong faith, strong work ethics, his honesty, loyalty and love of his country. The way he lived his life, his love and care for his wife created a legacy that will be passed down for generations to come.

Lloyd is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Erna, two sons; Bruce (Kathy) Anderson of Valley City, Glenn (Tina) Anderson of Bismarck, three daughters; Lori (Wally) Peter of Mandan, Doreen (Mike) Ryan of Valley City, Julie (Chad) Roeder of Thornton, CO, 12 grandchildren; Darin (Julia) Anderson, Darci (Jamie) Bratsch, Matthew (Emilee) Anderson, Carrie (Joe) Gress, Jonathon Anderson, Nathan Anderson, Jeremy (Alycia) Peter, Jesse Peter, Cassie (Ryan) Foster, Callie (Justin) Schiermeister, Calahan (Katie) Ryan, Casey Ryan, 17 Great Grandchildren and one sister, Joyce Potter of New Ulm, MN and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his son; David Lloyd Anderson, parents; Severt and Lenora Anderson, four sisters; Esther Olson, Lillian Vandrovec, Delphine Noecker and Eleanor Price, one brother; Leonard (Bud) Anderson and numerous brother and sister in laws.
