CITY (NewsDakota.com)–The Valley City Post 60 American Legion baseball team’s season is underway, and it started on a down note.
Post 60 was swept in a doubleheader by Thompson Friday night, losing 14-6 and 10-0, the second game spanning only three innings when Thompson scored nine runs in the bottom of the third.
Josh Gilbertson took the loss in game one, and Austen Meyer was the hurler of record in game two.
Post 60 travels to Enderlin Monday and Grafton Tuesday. The home opener will be Thursday, when Valley City hosts Great Bend at 5:30 p.m. The team will then play in a three-day tournament in LaMoure Friday through Sunday.
