CARRINGTON, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) The Cardinals improve to 8-0 after winning two games at Carrington City Park on Friday afternoon during the Carrington/New Rockford Baseball Jamboree. Here are the results:
Carrington 6 Rugby/Towner 5
The Panthers led the whole game until the bottom of the sixth inning when Carrington scored three runs to take a 5-4 lead, the Panthers would tie the score at five in the top of the seventh. After a lead off walk to Kyle Leapaldt and a double by Drew Page in the home half of the seventh, Ethan Buskness would hit a walk-off single to score Leapaldt for the game winner. Leapaldt picks up the victory on the mound relieving starting pitcher Ethan Buskness in the top of the seventh. Jordan Stone take the loss.
Carrington 4 Langdon/Edmore/Munich 0
Senior Kyle Leapaldt pitches a complete game, three hit shutout for Carrington and goes 3-for-4 at the plate with a 2-run home run, his second of the year, and two singles and two RBI. Leapaldt struck out six LEM batters, four caught looking. Cooper Zimmer suffers the loss.
