JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown High baseball team split their conference double header with Minot on Thursday night at Jack Brown Stadium. It’s not very rare to see both games end via the 10-run rule, but it is rare when they games end that way with a win for each team.
The Jays stormed out of the gates and crushed Minot early in game one. They had 12 runs across the play before Minot starter Alex Schmike was able to record six outs. Tommy Falk and Kohl Kratz each drove in multiple runs and backed Dawson Douty’s first win of the season.
The game ended 14-1 after five innings.
In game two, it was all Minot. The Magi struck for four runs in the first and piled on a nine-run third inning. One of the few highlights for the Jays was Isaac Mimog’s solo home run.
Minot won the second game 14-4.
Jamestown will host Dickinson today. Action begins at 4:30pm at Jack Brown Stadium.
