VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A burn ban is in effect for Barnes County now thru April 30. The burn ban will be reassessed next week.
The ban includes the burning of leaves, grass clippings, garbage pits, construction debris and fallen trees. The ban also includes the burning of crop residue, hay land, sloughs, campfires or bonfires.
Due to tender dry conditions the fire danger index was pushed into the high category for Barnes, Stutsman, Logan, McIntosh, Eddy and Foster counties. Several other counties in western and north central North Dakota are also under a burn ban until further notice.
