VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A group of people submitted a petition to recall the mayor of Tower City. The petition was approved by the ND Secretary of State’s office.
The petition committee believes Scott Salberg is not performing his duties properly and allows harassment of city officials at public meetings.
Former Tower City council member Randy Crist is a member of the petition committee. He gave his reasons to reporter Steve Urness as to why Salberg should be recalled from office.
Tower City Council member Stacey Lilja said everyone needs to take a step back and look at the facts. She told reporter Steve Urness she supports Salberg during this interview.
Mayor Scott Salberg gave NewsDakota.com this written response to the proposed recall against him:
“I have served the Tower City community as mayor since 2008. I refute the claims made in the recall petition. There are two sides to every story and I am willing to visit with any Tower City citizen who has questions or concerns. I also invite the citizens to attend a council meeting to observe the decisions affecting you and your neighbors. I believe in treating everyone fairly and stating accurate facts.”
The recall election will be held in July. Feature photo, is Stacey Lilja who serves as a member of the Tower City Council.
