N.D.(NewsDakota.com)…The 2011 North Dakota State Amateur Baseball Tournament opened on Wednesday night at Jack Brown Stadium in Jamestown with a couple of Single “A” games. Jamestown Greyhounds defeated Fargo-Moorhead Metros 6-4, and Fargo-Moorhead Spartans beat Tolna 7-4.
The Single “A” Division is double elimination format, so despite defeats in the opening round Tolna and F-M Metros, will have a chance to bounce back. Tolna will get right back on the field on Thursday night versus Central Plains Coyotes at 5:30 p.m., and the Coyotes will play again at 7:30 p.m. versus Fargo-Moorhead Spartans.

Levi Gaunska pitched a complete game, and picked up the win. Jake Stilwell had two hits, including an RBI double, Brandon Gange also had two hits, with a double, and two RBI. Shane Schoeneberg laced a pair of hits.
F-M Spartans 7 Tolna 4
Bryce Venaas threw a complete game five hitter for the Spartans. Dillon Deevy had two hits.
