VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The total enrollment number dropped in the Valley City Public School District.
Superintendent Josh Johnson said from February to March the district lost eight students. He said it was disappointing to drop below the 11-hundred student enrollment number this year.
An enrollment increase or decrease for any school district in North Dakota is big being the lion share of the funding is tied to the state school funding formula.
The school district’s peak enrollment over the past 10 years was 1,137 back in 2011.
