VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Stay off the Sheyenne River, it’s dangerous.

Valley City Fire Chief Scott Magnuson is reminding everyone to stay off the river especially above or near the little dam.

Five years ago, the Valley City Fire and Rescue Squad recovered the body of Dan Buehner after the rubber raft he and two other men were riding on capsized near the little dam on the Sheyenne River.
Buehner’s body was found by firemen below the 8th Avenue Bridge on April 22nd in 2014 in Valley City.

The Sheyenne River level was still high at 11.5 feet in Valley City as of April 19th of 2019.
