VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Valley City officials are breathing a sigh of relief as the spring flooding threat continues to diminish.
The Sheyenne River and it’s tributaries along the Upper Sheyenne River Basin are dropping north of Lake Ashtabula.
The current pool level on Lake Ashtabula on April 17th was at 1267.31 feet with 2,633 CFS being released from Baldhill Dam. The Sheyenne River level in Valley City is at 12.17 feet on April 17th.
Valley City Administrator David Schelkoph told the city commission that the US Army Corps of Engineers will begin reducing the Baldhill Dam outflow this week which will reduce the Sheyenne River level in Valley City.
