JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The University of Jamestown Convocations Committee brought back the Faculty Fireside Series in 2018.
The series will wrap up with one final lecture on Tuesday, April 16th.
The Faculty Fireside allows faculty at the University to talk with students and community members about a topic of their choice. Dr. Sean Flory will be talking about Linda W. Slaughter in his lecture called “How a Woman Won the West.”
Dr. Flory says Linda W. Slaughter has been recognized for her early personal collection and preservation of important papers.
Slaughter organized the Ladies’ Historical Society of Bismarck and North Dakota. She also served as a negotiator for the rights of women to vote and hold office.
Dr. Flory says his presentation will have more of a focus on her efforts in the state.
The Faculty Fireside is free and open to the public starting at 7 PM in the Raugust Library on the University of Jamestown campus.
