funeral service for Kimberly Kay (Haugen) Kotaska, 46, Hannaford, ND, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 30, 2012 in St. Olaf Lutheran Church, Walum, ND. Burial will be in St. Olaf Cemetery. She passed away at her rural home near Walum on May 25, 2012, while surrounded by her family under hospice care.
Visitation will be at the Oliver-Nathan Funeral Chapel, Valley City, ND on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. A prayer service will begin there at 7:00. Visitation will continue an hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.
Kimberly Kay Haugen was born on May 16, 1966 in Valley City, ND, the daughter of Harland and Myrna (Fogderud) Haugen. She was baptized at St. Olaf Lutheran Church, Walum, ND and confirmed at Our Saviors Lutheran Church, Valley City. Kimberly attended Valley City Public School and graduated in May of 1984. She attended Presentation College, Valley City State College, and Jamestown College. She graduated from Jamestown College in 1994 with an RN degree. Kimberly worked at the Sheyenne Care Center and Maryvale Convent. She always enjoyed her nursing career.
On October 26, 2010, she was united in marriage to Tim Kotaska. She enjoyed riding snowmobiles, water skiing, downhill skiing, and many other activities.
Kimberly is survived by her husband, Tim; children, Rochelle Grenz, Matthew Wanzek, Michael Wanzek, Christina Sayler, and Elizabeth Kotaska; granddaughter, Jayden Greer; parents, Harland and Myrna Haugen; brother, Wade (Andrea) Haugen; aunt, Connie (Kent) Peterson; uncles, Joel (Denise) Haugen and David (Mary) Haugen; nieces and nephews, Hannah, Erik, and Erin Haugen and Grady Haugen; and her mother and father-in-law, Geene and Pat Kotaska.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Rick Haugen; and grandparents, Conrad and Sylvia Fogderud and Harry and Ann Haugen.
