VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com)- Hi-Liner baseball opens the season on the road Friday kicking off a season they hope will end with a trip to The EDC Tournament.

Last year saw Valley City snap a long losing streak that spanned multiple seasons. Through the course of the year The Hi-Liners found themselves in several close contest, 3rd year head coach Lance Lukes felt that just a hand full of situations proved to the difference maker at the end of the season

The battle for the last spot in the postseason went down to the final few days of the year and The Hi-Liners were in the mix. Being in that spot is a learning experience they hope to capitalize

Experience in several key defensive positions will be a cornerstone this season

Bismarck will host Valley City Friday in their season opener. The first EDC game is set for April 5th at Grand Forks Central, The Hi-Liners first home game is April 9th against Devils Lake.
