VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The job market is highly competitive for both businesses and job seekers, but we are here to make this process easier for both parties. The services we provide are intended to alleviate these issues by helping businesses recruit quality candidates and helping job seekers find careers that match their skills, education, and experience according to Trinity Potts, the Employee Retention & Recruiting Coordinator for the Development Corporation.

If you head on up the steps to the second floor of the Rosebud Visitors Center, you’ll find her ready to assist. When asked about the Workforce Center, Trinity says: “I have the opportunity to work with a wide variety of job seekers and employers. One great resource provided through the Workforce Center is the Job Openings page on our website. It gives job seekers a great starting point for their job searches and provides free advertising for employers. All employers have to do is send me a job description for their open positions and let me know when they have them filled.”

Trinity supports businesses and job seekers in different ways in order to help each accomplish their goals. For businesses she helps them get the word out about job openings by assisting them with writing job descriptions, posting job openings on several online platforms, and getting them in touch with qualified individuals to fill their positions. She is also a great resource for job seekers by helping with job searches, online applications, and with writing resumes, cover letters, and reference lists.

The Development Corporation’s Workforce Center also offers training programs to help candidates gain the skills they need. We have had early success with a welding training. We held two classes which have allowed 14 people to successfully complete training and two have received local job offers! The third class will be completed April 11th.

If you would like assistance from Trinity please give her a call at 701-490-3530 to schedule a time to work with her. However, if you are more interested in just a quiet place to work on such tasks, the Workforce Center has computers, printing, scanning and internet access available. Walk-ins are welcome from 9:00-12:00 and 1:00-4:00 on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
