BISMARCK, N.D. (NewsDakota.com)- Only in her 2nd year of wrestling, Jayda Kunze took her skills to the first ever Girls ND State youth wrestling tournament held in Bismarck Friday, March 22. Competing in the 12 and under 86 lbs. division. Kunze defeated Kara Bobbe of Hazen in a best 2 out of 3 match format 2 matches to 1. After splitting the first two matches, Jayda secured her title in the third and final match winning a thrilling decision (5-4).

Also competing for Express Wrestling of VC was Gabby Hannig at 65 lb. in the 12 U division. After losing her first match, Gabby won by fall over Aubry Sorensen of Watford City in 3:39 then pinned Haley Irwin of Hettinger in 1:52 to win “True” second place.
58 girls signed up to compete in the event which is sure to grow.

Friday night also included the boys youth dual team ND State Tournament. Wrestling for the Bison Wrestling Club of Fargo was Kolt Grebel. BWC won all four duals to win the tournament , Grebel went 4-0 with 3 pins on the night.
