JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – In the lull of Spring, the North Dakota Game & Fish Department encourages individuals to prepare for the upcoming seasons and advisory meetings.

Game & Fish Wildlife Biologist Doug Leier reports that with the spring melt, they’re keeping an eye to the sky regarding snow geese in North Dakota.

Spring Light Goose Hunting season is in effect until May 12th. Residents must have either have a 2018-19 license or a 2019-20 license, which is required by April 1st.

Leier says hunters will need to have those new license before they’ll receive their new spring turkey license.

Leier says outdoor enthusiasts and hunters are encouraged to join one of the many advisory meetings happening across the state starting in April.

Leier also reminds hunters the deadline to apply for the moose, elk, and bighorn sheep lottery.

You can listen to Doug Leier every Thursday at 7:20 AM with JD in the Morning on Big Dog 95.5 FM.
