JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The 9th Annual James Valley Pheasants Forever Banquet will be raising funds to allow them to continue support for numerous efforts in the region.
The banquet features a night of food, fun, games and all funds raised benefit local habitat, conservation, and outreach efforts.
Club member Ken McDougall says the award was given to the James Valley Pheasants Forever group because of their championed missions locally, statewide and in the nation.
McDougall says another project their supporting is the Shooting Sports at the University of Jamestown. Dustin Jensen, Associate Dean of Student Engagement, says the University began the Shooting Sports club because of the rapidly growing interest in it.
Jensen says student Matt Baloun and another student brought the idea of starting the club forward, which began in the Fall of 2018.
The University earlier announced that they would be elevating the program to include competitive archery and are in the middle of finding a head coach.
Student Matt Baloun says his interest in the shooting sports began at a young age.
McDougall says funding will be given to the University to help the expansion of the shooting sports club.
Tickets are currently available for the banquet on March 29th at the K.C. Hall starting at 5 PM. You can click here for more information on Pheasants Forever and to purchase your tickets for the event.
