JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Prairie Paws Rescue has been providing foster homes for area animals in their unique way since 2007.

The non-profit has volunteers being “foster homes” for animals until they can be adopted by a family. Kaye John, co-founder and volunteer with Prairie Paws Rescue, says they started the group to do more for the animals.

John says she along with about 10 other volunteers continue to house these animals, providing them with food, shelter, medicine, vet needs and anything else they may require.
John says they’re also looking to help area pet owners with a need that they see in the area; pet first aid.

John says to raise money and provide this information, they’ll be hosting their first ever “Paws-I-Tive Pet Care” Workshop on March 30th. She says all four local vet clinics in Jamestown have been asked to provide different information that pet owners can use.

John says Missy Powers of Edgeley will also be on hand for pet obedience training. A question and answer session will take place following the course. The cost to participate is $25. You can visit prairiepawsrescue.com or at any Jamestown Veterinary location.
