FARGO, N.D. (NewsDakota.com)- The VCHS girls’ basketball team was unable to extend their season Thursday in Fargo. West Fargo Sheyenne capitalized on The Hi-Liners’ turn overs and used a big second half outpouring to win 54-37 in an EDC Tournament elimination game.
Valley City was hampered by 33 turnovers while shooting 27%. Defensively The Hi-Liners stuck to their game plan, especially in the first half. They held The Mustangs to just 1 for 13 in 3 point shooting in the game with their lone trey coming with 1:47 left on the night. Head Coach Jimmy Howard said that fatigue caught up with them

 
The rebounding battle went to Valley City 41-38. Taryn Dieterle led all scores with 18 points along with 13 rebounds. Grace Scherr had 6 points and 5 rebounds and Jadyn Dieterle 5 points.
Maggie Manson led 3 Mustangs in double figures with 14 points. Yasmina Dokara scored 12 and Olivia Dobrinz 10.
Valley City’s year end in The EDC Tournament for the second straight season, Thursday’s game was the final for seniors Mikayla Wolla, Grace Scherr, Josie Berntson, Taryn Dieterle, Megan Roswick and Molly Dockter.

 
Sheyenne will face West Fargo Saturday at 11am in a state qualifying game. The Hi-Liners finish the year with a 11-13 mark.
