BISMARCK (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown High boys basketball team rolled to a 23-point victory over Dickinson in the opening round of the West Region Tournament on Thursday afternoon, 67-44.
Boden Skunberg poured in a game-high 25 and in the process broke the single-season scoring record. He passed Paul Anderson, who had 544 in 1980, with a lay-up in the opening moments of the second half. Skunberg’s total now sits at 551.
The Jays defense was the catalyst in this one holding Dickinson to just 44 points. They didn’t get into double-figures until the four minute mark of the first half.
Ryder Lunzman was the only other Jay in double-figures with 11. Mason Walters had eight points and 16 rebounds.
Jamestown will play either Minot or Century at 5:30pm on Friday night.
