CITY  (NewsDakota.com)–The Hi-Liner fastpitch softball team begins play in the East Region tournament Thursday.

Valley City has drawn the five seed, and will face four-seed Grand Forks Red River in the opening round.  The game will be at 4:30 p.m. on Field 1 at Elmwood Park in West Fargo.

West Fargo is the top seed, and will face Fargo Davies in the first round following the Hi-Liner matchup.  Winners and losers play each other Friday.

Fargo North received the second seed, and will face Grand Forks Central.  Fargo Shanley took the three seed, and will face Devils Lake.

The top four finishers advance to the state tournament, also in West Fargo.
