CITY  (NewsDakota.com)–It was a record-breaking day for one Valley City swimmer at the USA Swimming North Dakota long course state championships last weekend.

Erin Hart, competing in the 17-18 year-old division, broke the state record in the 50-meter back stroke, winning the event with a time of 31.95.

It was one of three titles for Hart.  She took gold in the 100-meter back stroke (1:09.01) and the 200-meter back stroke (2:32.02).  She was also second in the 50-meter free style and third in both the 100-meter free style and the 200-meter individual medley.

Younger sister Annie Hart competed in the 13-14 year-old division, and finished runner-up in the 50-meter back stroke (33.64), third in both the 100-meter back stroke (1:14.80) and the 200-meter back stroke (2:43.77). 

The younger Hart also took home fourth in the 50-meter free style, fifth in the 100-meter free style, and 6th in the 200-meter individual medley.

Both swimmers compete for the Valley City Sharks club swim team and the Jamestown Blue Jays high school swim team.
