CARRINGTON, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Carrington Fire Department braved dangerous temperatures Tuesday night to attend to a semi fire.

Carrington Fire Chief Ken Wangen reports that around 10 PM, crews were called to a semi fire about 3 miles south of Carrington.

“It was a tire fire,” Chief Wangen pointed out. “[I’m] guess it was a brake lock up.”

Wangen says around midnight, crews were called to a car in the ditch. Crews responded to each call in dangerous temperatures and during the continued wind chill warning.

“[It’s] tough on the men and equipment, but thankfully they were short incidents,” Wangen explained.
