JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The search for a dangerous Pitbull in Jamestown has ended.

Police Lieutenant Nick Hardy reports that officers captured the pitbull after it bit a fifth person in Jamestown late Friday evening.

“The latest victim was able to detain the animal in a garage and turn it over to officers and animal control,” Lt. Hardy reports.

At approximately the same time during an unrelated call for service, the owner of the animal was summoned to court for numerous animal violations.

“The owner was also arrested for conspiracy to commit aggravated assault. No further information will be released until formal charges are filed,” Lt. Hardy stated.

Police began the search after the pitbull bit four people since September 2018. The most serious bite occurred Friday, causing an individual to need help for serious injuries.
