JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – After sevens seasons as the defensive backs coach, special teams coordinator and co-recruiting coordinator at Concordia College (MN), Brian Mistro has been selected as the 20th head football coach at the University of Jamestown. He takes over for Josh Kittell, who left after three years at the helm to become the recruiting coordinator at NDSU.
The Jimmies are expected to introduce their new coach at 12:15pm Wednesday from the foyer at Newman Arena. You can listen to the press conference on ESPN Jamestown.
Mistro graduated from Jamestown in 2009, compiling 15 career interceptions and an all-conference selection at safety. He worked for Terry Horan at Concordia since 2012 as the defensive backs coach and added the special teams coordinator to his resume in 2016.
After graduating from UJ, Mistro was a graduate assistant at Northern State under former Jimmie head coach Tom Dosch.
Jamestown went 3-9 under Kittell in their first season in the GPAC, with wins over VCSU, Briar Cliff and Hastings.
Mistro’s first game as head coach will be a Thursday night game in Valley City on August 29th.
