Nanette “Nan” Pollock, age 64, of Alice, ND, died Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at Sanford on Broadway in Fargo, ND after a courageous battle with cancer. Her will to live made her family proud.

A funeral mass will be celebrated at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Fingal, ND on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 11:00 AM. Visitation will be held at the Lerud Mathias Funeral Home in Valley City, ND on Friday from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a prayer service beginning at 7:00. Burial will be in the Buffalo Cemetery, Buffalo, ND in the spring.

Nanette Sue Svenningsen, the daughter of Svend and Shirley (Boughton) Svenningsen, was born September 11, 1954. Nan grew up near Luverne, ND with her four siblings and attended school at Noltimier. She graduated from Pillsbury High School in 1972 and then enlisted in the North Dakota Army National Guard.

Nan married her beloved husband Tim Pollock in 1982. The couple lived near Alice, ND where they raised their four children. She worked various jobs and was most recently employed by Maryhill Manor in Enderlin, ND. Nan’s greatest joy was spending time with her family above all else. She loved to travel, go camping and was an avid reader.

Nan is survived by her husband Tim, Alice, ND; four children, Patrick (Amber) Svenningsen, Harvey, ND, Crystal (Jon) Grenz, Fingal, ND, Jessica (Russell) Nelson, Alice, ND and Jonathan Pollock, Tower City, ND; eight grandchildren, Izabella Grenz, Brayden Svenningsen, Riley Svenningsen, Aubree Nelson, Hayden Nelson, Jaxon Svenningsen, Evelyn Nelson and Wyatt Svenningsen; siblings, Larry (Carmen) Svenningsen, Luverne, ND, Howard (Mary Ellen) Svenningsen, Valley City, ND, Michael Harrison, Luverne, ND, Robin (Steve) Winter, Oriska, ND. Along with, half siblings, Dorothy Fallen, Tommy Taylor and Terry Taylor; numerous nieces and nephews.

Nan was preceded in death by her parents, her father in law Clem Pollock, mother in law Irene Pollock, brother in law Patrick Pollock, a niece Britton Weber and numerous aunts and uncles.
