JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Stutsman County residents are being encouraged to sign-up for the new emergency notification system Everbridge before service ends with the current system.

The County reported that on February 1st, they would stop using CodeRED and start using Everbridge for the free emergency notification system. Stutsman County Emergency Manager and 911 Coordinator Jerry Bergquist says the move was made for several reasons.

Other reasons for the switch include the cost savings. Bergquist says splitting training costs and more with Barnes & Richland counties. Bergquist says now, they’re informing residents that they need to signup for Everbridge in order to keep receiving notifications.

Residents can register for the free service to send them notifications in the event of an emergency situation or weather alert to either their cellphones, email, or landlines. The service can alert residents based on their address within all of Stutsman County.

Bergquist says those with landlines are already included on the service, but only around 500 others have registered for the new service so far.

To sign up, go to stutsmancounty.gov and click on Stutsman Alerts. There is no charge to register.
