LEAL, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) –  As the second half of the season begins Friday night, Barnes County North sits at 3-5 on the season, just a play or two away from 500 or better.

The Bison open up the second half of the season Friday night at home versus Oakes. It has been two weeks since the Bison last played a game and with the holidays and bad weather, practices have been scarce since then. Head Coach Allyson Dockter says it is almost backed to square one getting ready for Oakes.

After the 6-2 Tornadoes, Barnes County North faces 12th ranked Carrington then eighth ranked LaMoure-Litchville-Marion next week. The three teams have a combined overall record of 21-5 and a District 5 combined mark of 4-0. Dockter says playing those three right out of the gate after the holidays, has its good and bad sides.

BCN and Oakes play a double-header at Barnes County North beginning with the girls at  6pm, then the boys to follow. Coverage begins at 5:45 and both games can be heard on 1220 KDDR/95.9 FM The Tornado and newsdakota.com
