(Submitted) Valley City, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Holly Sabinash was named the Special Olympics Female Athlete of the Year.

When Holly moved to North Dakota, she fully embraced the power of sports, to her first step on the track, Holly has become a multi-sport athlete. Holly’s sports resume includes track and field, soccer, bowling, basketball, and volleyball. While competing annually in track & field, Holly’s true athletic talents shine in basketball.it was only a matter of time before she became a star on the Valley City youth team.

Holly has been a great ambassador for Special Olympics both on and off the the playing field demonstrated by her enthusiasm and willingness to encourage her teammates.

Holly takes great pride in recruiting new athletes to join Special Olympics. But her recruitment doesn’t stop with just the athletes. When a student at Valley City High School, she recruited her classmates to join the local program as partners for their unified teams. Through her recruitment efforts, Holly has helped the local program in Valley City increase the number of youth athletes and unified partners. she is always excited to share her experiences about Special Olympics to other so they realize the impact it has on her life and that they too can have a profound impact on someones else’s life if they got involved.

Holly graduated from Valley City High School in the spring of 2018 and is currently enrolled at the Sheyenne Valley Career and Tech Center in Valley City. Holly is employed at the Colorado Jacks Popcorn factory at the Open Door Center, but her dream job is to work with horses and even own a few one day.
