JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The University of Jamestown Convocations Committee will be bringing back an event that hasn’t been held for some time.

The committee has worked to bring back the Faculty Fireside Series, where faculty will have a chance to talk to students and community about a topic of their choice. Dr. Richard Walentine is the chair for the Convocations Committee.

The first of the Fireside Series will feature Liz Hunt, Director of Character in Leadership. She says she’ll talk about Christian Education in the New Millennium.

Hunt says through research, she found a lot of information on how Universities can help individuals embrace that.

The series kickoff will be November 6th at 7 PM in the Raugust Library on the campus. Other planed Faculty Firesides include:

December 4th – Vicki Greshik, Associate Professor of Accounting on the New Tax Code: An Accountant’s Eye View

January 15th – Dr. Michelle Solensky, Professor of Biology on Monarch butterflies: To List, or not to list.

April 2nd – Dr. Sean Flory, Professor of English on Linda W. Slaughter: How a Woman Won the West!

Each fireside series will start at 7 PM in the Raugust Library. For more on the events, click here.
