LaMoure, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – They say you want to be playing your best right before the post season begins. With ten days before the District 5 tournament begins in Ellendale, the three time defending state champ LaMoure-Litchville/Marion Loboes are doing just that.
With a straight set win over Lisbon Monday night, the Loboes have won eight straight matches and 20 of 25 sets. Last night they won by scores of 25-13m 25-16 and 25-21.
Led again by Ellie Holen with nine kills, the Loboes had balance in their offense. Ashlyn Rode and Ryleigh Podoll each had seven kills and Alyssa Ragan added four. Allie Hebl had 27 set assists while Ana Mart led the defense with five digs.
The Broncos were led offensively by freshman Taylor Gilbert with five kills. Jade Bergeman had 10 set assists and six digs. Jamie Reinke led the Bronco defense with 21 digs. Olivia Tuhy had seven while Preslie Ercink, Livia Dick and Aubrie Bakken had five each. Gilbert added three blocks as well.
The Loboes are 24-7 on the year and wrap up the regular season next Tuesday at Medina-Pingree-Buchanan. That will be the Game of the Week on Thunder Country 98.3 with the pregame at 6:45 and the first serve at 7pm.
Lisbon falls to 9-20 and are right back at it Tuesday night when they travel to Fairmont to face Tri State.
