JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – During the week of October 8th through the 14th, National Healthcare Food Services Week is celebrated.

The week provides recognition of healthcare food services staff at facilities nationwide. Rachel Jennings is the Nutrition Therapy Services Manager at the Anne Carlsen Center and says her role is to make sure providers are meeting the specific food services needs of their clients.

Jennings says she works with the registered dietitian to make sure nutritional needs are met every single day. She says they have a focused menu that is for all of their residents at the Anne Carlsen Center.

Jennings pointed out that it takes a group effort to ensure the right nutrition is being provided and is being served in a way that best suites the individual.

During this week, individuals are encouraged to thank their food service providers in the healthcare setting whether it’s assisted living or hospitals.
