COOPERSTOWN,N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A week before the volleyball season began, Jill Larson became the head coach of  the Griggs County Central volleyball team. Needless to say, there have been some growing pains.

With only one senior on the team and two juniors, youth is definitely being served in Cooperstown. But coach Larson says that one senior, Kayla Kenninger is doing her part to help the youth movement.

Since the Cougars are such a young team, improving from match to match is more important than wins or losses.

Last year’s Cougars were 10-21 and lost in the first round of the region tournament. Larson says team goals are not all that these young ladies set.

Griggs County Central next will play May-Port-CG tonight in Mayville. The Patriots are 2-0 in Region 3 and tied with Thompson for the top spot. So this will not be an easy task for the young Cougars.
