(NewsDakota.com) – Five Jamestown High School students are headed to Philadelphia this weekend to compete in the National Lifesmarts Competition.
Questions in the competition cover personal finance, health and safety, the environment, technology, and consumer rights and responsibilities. Jamestown’s team won the state competition in February, and are now one of 32 teams in the national competition.
Jamestown’s team is coached by Marchel Krieger and is made up of juniors Declan O’Higgins, Kyle Gee and Mariah Schlenker, sophomore Zach Fossen and freshman Kelsey Becker.
The team is scheduled to compete Saturday and competition continues through Tuesday. The final eight teams make the semifinals, when competition will be streamed online at 9 a.m. Tuesday at www.lifesmarts.org.
