VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Valley City Police Department is up to a full force after the hiring of a new police officer.

Officer Travis Johnson was sworn in during a regular city commission meeting on September 4th.

Johnson also serves in the North Dakota National Guard as a Lieutenant. He is a graduate of North Dakota State University in Fargo. He grew up in Buffalo, Minnesota.

Valley City Police Chief Phil Hatcher said with the hiring of Johnson, the police department is fully staffed with 14 licensed peace officers.
