ELLENDALE, N.D. (NewsDakota.com)- Ashley Schmitt had 13 kills, and Kassie Breidenbach added another nine to go along with four aces as the Napoleon/Gackle-Streeter Volleyball team won their season opener with a sweep of Ellendale Tuesday night.

The Imperials won by scores of 25-9, 25-21 and 25-6. Veronica Schwartzenberger registered 22 digs in the victory, with Schmitt and Courtney Thompson each tallying 11.

Katelyn Dathe and Kiley Larson each had a pair of kills in the loss for the Cardinals (0-2).

NGS hosts LaMoure-Litchville/Marion Thursday, while Ellendale will seek their first win on the young season when they welcome Kidder County.
