(NewsDakota.com) – Jamestown resident Janelle Alexandra Cave is scheduled to be sentenced Monday on convictions of manslaughter and criminal conspiracy in Stutsman County District Court.

Cave was convicted Feb. 16 of manslaughter and criminal conspiracy in relation to the death of 18-year-old Abdi Ali Ahmed, whose body was found in a ditch near Spiritwood on April 30, 2011. Cave was found not guilty of murder in the case.

Following the 9-day trial in February, Judge Thomas Merrick ordered a pre-sentence investigation prior to sentencing. The sentence will be handed down Monday afternoon at the Stutsman County Courthouse.

Leron Lee Howard is currently scheduled to go on trial Aug. 14-24 in Stutsman County in relation to the same case. He faces charges of murder and criminal conspiracy, both Class AA felonies punishable by up to life in prison.
