JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – During a Stutsman County Commission meeting Tuesday, Stutsman County Sheriff Chad Kaiser reported the resignation of a deputy.
Sheriff Kaiser came before the commission to inform them of Deputy Matt Thom’s resignation from the Stutsman County Sheriff’s Office Monday. Kaiser stated that he would like the commission to approve the transfer of Thom’s K-9 Dreamos to him as well.
Dreamos joined Matt Thom in 2015 and has served the department since. Kaiser says it’s normal for a handler to take the dog when it’s retired. The sale of the dog would be for $1 as part of a hold harmless agreement between Thom and the county.
Kaiser was asked if he would begin searching for another deputy, to which he agreed.
The Stutsman County Unanimously agreed.
