JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – U.S. Senators Heidi Heitkamp and John Hoeven have several planned stops in the region this week.

Senator Hoeven will be holding meetings in Jamestown on his Jamestown Reservoir Bill on Tuesday, August 7th. Hoeven will discuss his legislation to transfer land around the reservoir to state and local public ownership. He will be at the Stutsman County Law Enforcement Center at 10:30 AM.

Senator Heitkamp will be in Courtenay Wednesday, August 8th to receive the Wind Champion Award from the American Wind Energy Association. She’ll speak to residents along with representatives from Geronimo Energy and Xcel Energy as well as American Wind Energy Association CEO Tom Kiernan. The ceremony will be at David Soupir Memorial Park starting at 9:45 AM.

On Thursday, August 9th. Senator Heitkamp will attend Ellendale’s Fox Tail Wind Farm groundbreaking. The event will be 10:15 AM along 88th Street Southeast and 74th Avenue Southeast.

She’ll then be in Jamestown to tour Mary’s Place, which helps provide women and children who are survivors of domestic or sexual violence with a temporary and safe place to stay. She’ll tour the new temporary housing at 2:30 PM.
