LANGDON, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Another four games took place on Thursday at American Legion Field with the first two games elimination games. Here are the results:

Carrington Post 25 hit three solo home runs and Thompson’s Clay Odenbach hit a 3-run home run in game seven of the tourney. Kyle Leapaldt hit a solo shot in the top of the first inning, Carrington led 1-0 after a half inning. Then Thompson scored two runs in the home half of the first, five runs in the bottom of the third inning including Odenbach’s three run blast over the right field wall and two more runs in the fifth. Leapaldt went deep again in the sixth and Trey Rosenau hit his home run in the seventh. Garrett Bickett had the only other hit for Carrington, a single in the third inning. Third basemen Tyler Hegg was 2-for-3 at the plate for Post 181, with a sacrifice RBI, an RBI single and scored two runs. Trey Larimer was the winning pitcher, Jayden Shipman takes the loss.

Velva 11 LaMoure 2
Velva scored three runs in the top of the first and never looked back as they roll past LaMoure Post 19 by nine runs. Colton Frankl was 3-for-3 with two singles, a double and scored a run, Nic Effertz was the winning pitcher and went 1-for-3 at the plate with a two-RBI double in the top of the third inning. Post 19 scored their two runs in the home half of the sixth inning, Alex Klever, Jacob Ulmer and Mac Bierman all hit singles, later Jace Hanson hit a sacrifice RBI. Klever took the loss.
