ELLENDALE, N.D. (NewsDakota.com)- The Valley City Babe Ruth team won a must win game in Ellendale earlier this week to clinch the second seed for the District 6 Tournament.

Last season Valley City made it to the final day of the tournament and were a game away from state before a loss to LaMoure. A large number of those players moved up to legion this year. Coach Tyler Ukestad says entering the year he knew they’d have several player working into some new spots

Finishing in front of Valley City in the standings was LaMoure. Ukestad feels a trip to state goes through the defending district champions

Tournament play was set to begin Thursday but has been rained out, the new schedule has yet to be announced.
